Syuen (Sh-wen) is a Malaysian filmmaker based in Los Angeles and Kuala Lumpur who is drawn to the unique complexities of people and places around her.

In 2026, Syuen won a Regional Emmy in the "Entertainment" category from the NATAS Northwest Chapter for her producing work on Season 5 of "The Montana Sessions".

Her latest narrative short “When I Die” (starring Brylee Hsu from Barbie) has been recognized at festivals, like NFFTY, LA Shorts, and Boston Asian American Film Festival, and is currently available online via FilmShortage.
